“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” – Winston Churchill

Thanks to you in 2017, the Maritime Explorium hosted close to 200 STEM workshops, impacting approximately 6000 students across Long Island. Children of all abilities were able to experience the joy of STEM discovery and innovation. With the implementation of the New York State Science learning Standards in July 2017, we were awarded the privilege of providing approved Professional Development training for teachers in New York State. Our annual Eastern Long Island Mini-Maker Faire attracted close to 2000 visitors, making it the most successful year to date!
Even with such success, we are aiming for even greater heights in 2018. We can do so much more to empower our future generation with the love of STEM through innovative programming and fun learning experiences. We embrace the ‘fail-forward’ concept that allows students to face challenges with confidence and develop ‘GRIT’, a key predictor of success in life.
Would you be willing to make a special end of year gift of $50, $100 or whatever you can afford to support our efforts to develop the next generation of innovators, scientists, thinkers and tinkerers?
On Giving Tuesday, Nov 28th, beginning at 8 am EST, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will match gifts to a nonprofit up to $50,000. Please click on our Facebook page on November 28th, 2017 to send in your donation.

No words can express the deep gratitude I have for your continued support of the Maritime Explorium. On behalf of all the children whose eyes light up when they solve a problem or reach an “Ah ha!” moment, I thank you.

With deep appreciation,

Angeline Judex
